The Road to Uncertainty
I walked for miles on a long straight narrow road. The sun shone brightly without blazing heat. I was comfortable. Tall green trees surrounded me. I had the freedom to walk and let my mind wander. It was the perfect day. I walked for miles until my thoughts dried up and my feet got tired. There was nothing new to see and nowhere to rest. There must be more to this walk, I thought. I noticed a shadow crossing my path. Startled, I looked up to see a fluffy white cloud in the sky above me. Where did it come from? I walked further and saw a curve in the road. My curiosity was peaked. What could be around the corner? Up ahead the sky darkened. I felt a shiver of fear, or was it cold? I wasn’t sure. With no time to think, I ducked under a tree branch I hadn’t even noticed as huge drops of rain hit the pavement with big splotchy patches.
